Now Accepting Submissions for Scribd’s “Get Lit” Event at Litquake 2009, San Francisco

Scribd is inviting Bay Area-connected authors to submit original, unpublished writing for a chance to read at Scribd’s official “Get Lit” Litquake 2009 event and the opportunity to meet with a literary agent. A handful of selected writers will perform their work in front of a live Litquake audience and panel of prominent judges including:

  • April Eberhardt — Literary Agent at Reece Halsey North Literary Agency and former editor of Zoetrope: All-Story literary magazine
  • Kathi Kamen Goldmark — Author Liaison for high-profile literary events and producer of nationally-distributed radio show, West Coast Live
  • Kemble Scott — bestselling author, founder of the SF Bay Area Literary Arts Newsletter and the SoMa Literary Review
  • Bridget Kinsella — former west coast editor and current contributor to Publishers Weekly and Shelf Awareness, freelance book editor
  • Tammy Nam — Vice President of content and marketing at Scribd

All finalists will be featured on Scribd.com, giving them the opportunity to reach an audience of tens of millions of readers.

Scribd’s “Get Lit” event will occur on the closing night of Litquake, Oct. 17, 2009, at the Elbo Room in San Francisco. The event will be emceed by Joe Quirk, a bestselling author with hilarious anecdotes about misadventures in publishing.
