We’re excited to announce that on Tuesday, April 29, we will welcome Lonely Planet author and international travel writer sensation Don George to the Scribd Author Series! Don George is author of the “travel writers’ bible”, The Lonely Planet Guide to Travel Writing. This event will celebrate our partnership with Lonely Planet and our ever-expanding international reader base.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to travel the world and get paid to write about it? Or perhaps you just want to hear from someone who has seen it all? Join us for a talk on travel writing and seeing the world. Plus, you’ll get a free book and some wine.
Fans and members of the San Francisco reading and writing community are invited to join us for a free, intimate evening event with Don George. The event will include a talk from the author and a Q&A session, followed by a meet-and-greet and book signing with the legend himself. We’ll have refreshments and take-home goodies to hand out, including some Scribd subscriptions. We ask that anyone interested in attending RSVP here.
Can’t be here in person? That’s okay! We will be sharing photos and video after the event. And if you do have any questions leading up to the event, just tweet it to us at @Scribd—make sure to include the hashtag #ScribdAuthors. We’ll be live-tweeting the event if you want to follow along, and videos of the Q&A will be available on YouTube afterwards.
You can start gearing up for the visit by reading The Lonely Planet Guide to Travel Writing and all of Lonely Planet’s other guidebooks on Scribd now. For being a new reader, we’ll even throw in our promo code for you for a few free months of reading.
See you soon!
