Why The Hunger Games Should Inspire You

Though some aren’t on board with adults reading YA, many others recognize the genre’s creativity and social power. Books like The Hunger Games have inspired adults and teens alike to take up worthy causes; Jennifer Lawrence channeled Katniss Everdeen’s courage off the screen to speak out against the gender wage gap, while the Harry Potter Alliance’s “Odds in Our Favor” campaign addresses economic inequality.

We’re both excited and sad for the release of the final Hunger Games movie next week, but we don’t want the spark lit by the Girl on Fire to flicker out. Here are other stories about brave rebels to carry on with the cause:
