A new chapter at Scribd

We have entered another phase in the Scribd story. Trip Adler, Scribd CEO, has made the decision to start his next chapter and leave his role as CEO. Going forward, he will continue to serve on the Scribd Board and continue to be a major shareholder.

Starting today, Tony Grimminck will serve as interim CEO. Tony has served as the company’s CFO for the last 4 years and has been deeply involved in shaping the strategic and financial direction of the company. We’re continuing to build Scribd into a customer-first business that provides a content-rich and seamlessly connected experience for consumers.

Trip started this company when he was in college and has been building Scribd for almost 17 years. Over the last few years, Trip has built out a strong executive team and an experienced Board of Directors to position the company for long-term future success. Scribd is in the strongest position in its history.

Today Scribd reaches 2 billion people around the world annually with our products. 2 million of these are paying subscribers. There have been 200 million pieces of content uploaded to Scribd, making it one of the largest libraries in the world. And we have a world-class team at every level of the company, along with an incredible corporate culture.

We are excited about what the future holds for Scribd. Together we will continue to make a mark in the digital entertainment industry.
