Scribd Scoop: Nancy Pelosi Fends Off the Competition, Gets Re-Elected

House Democrats re-elected California congresswoman Nancy Pelosi to be their leader, securing a job she’s held for more than a decade.
The 76-year-old didn’t rise to power without some drama, however. Including an opponent who blasted her for being status quo.
Ohio congressman Tim Ryan was also vying for the spot, saying that there’s a need for change in the House to connect with voters in the middle of the country and that regaining the majority would take “a new message and a new messenger.”
