Trump’s Interview with NBC, the GOP’s Tax Plan, and More

After the controversial firing of FBI Director James Comey, President Donald Trump warned Comey Friday that he should hope there are no tapes of their private conversations.

This warning came after President Trump did an interview Thursday with NBC’s Nightly News answering questions about Comey’s dismissal. President Trump claimed it had nothing to do with the investigation into his cabinet’s ties with Russian officials, but he also said “In fact when I decided to just do it, I said to myself, I said you know, this Russia thing with Trump and Russia is a made-up story, it's an excuse by the Democrats for having lost an election that they should have won.”

This has reignited comparisons to the Watergate scandal of President Nixon’s administration. Read the story in The AP.
