Recently, there’s been an alarming uptick in books being banned in school and public libraries. These bans are disproportionately impacting topics around diverse perspectives. Disappointingly, the works of several Scribd Original authors — Kiese Laymon, Carmen Maria Machado, and Margaret Atwood — have been included in the recent bans.
